If you’re a fan of Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, you’re in for a treat with the game’s newest showcase! The team has announced some incredible updates and features that will add even more magic, creativity, and depth to our Valley adventures. With two major updates—the Storybook Veil expansion pass and the Sew Delightful update—there’s plenty to dive into. Here’s a breakdown of everything you can look forward to!
A New Expansion Pass: Storybook Veil
(Launching November 20)
The Storybook Veil expansion pass opens up a whole new realm for players to explore and get creative. Taking place in a mythical, enchanted world above Dreamlight Valley, the Veil has three brand-new biomes inspired by Disney’s most beloved characters and tales. In The Bind, you’ll wander through a forest reminiscent of dark academia, cozy autumnal settings, and Scottish folklore. Mythopia draws inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman mythology, with golden fields and ancient ruins. Lastly, Ever After gives off an enchanted, forested vibe with nods to Scandinavian tales, including magical bioluminescent flora and mythical creatures.
As with the previous expansion, you’ll be able to meet and befriend at least four new villagers: Merida, Flynn Rider, Hades, and the Mistress of All Evil herself, Maleficent. If you’ve already befriended Rapunzel during the first expansion pass, you’ll even be able to reunite her with Flynn through a special quest!
We’re also getting a new tool this update—a bug-catching net! This will primarily be used to catch adorable, origami-like creatures that represent fragments of classic Disney stories, which can then transform into decorative tapestries for your Valley home. I cannot wait!
Sew Delightful update (Coming December 4)
My main concern with yet another batch of villagers was, “Where am I gonna put them?” My Valley is packed! Thankfully, the team listened to the community’s feedback. In the Sew Delightful update, we’ll be able to buy Floating Islands with Dreamlight. These islands are extension counterparts to each biome in the game, providing a fresh, blank canvas for us to decorate freely. Most importantly, each floating island has its own object limit, separate from the Valley’s, so we can let our creativity flow without restrictions! Plus, you can visit other players’ floating islands to get inspiration or show off your designs.
Taking customization further, item rotation is being increased from four to sixteen points, giving us greater flexibility with furniture, landscaping, and building placements. Eventually, this feature will extend to fences and paths, but that’s planned for a future update.
A new star path & valley visitor!
Of course, that’s not all! This update introduces a new Star Path called Ethereal Winter. This season’s Star Path, as you might guess, has a winter theme, bringing icy and whimsical items like snowflake wands and fairy-tale furniture that will let you transform your Valley into a winter wonderland.
One year after the arrival of Jack Skellington, we’ll also be able to invite Sally to the Valley, reuniting the iconic couple in true Halloween Town style.
What’s Coming in 2025?
As iif this season’s updates weren’t enough, the team also shared a roadmap for the first half of 2025. Expect even more beloved Disney characters to join the Valley, along with secret expansions and adventures that will keep cozy gamers hooked. From the looks of it, it seems like we’re getting Aladdin, Jasmine, a few characters from Alice in Wonderland, and finally some Peter Pan characters. At least, that’s what I’m speculating will be inside the iconic Skull Rock.
This Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase is brimming with updates perfect for fans of the game! The Storybook Veil expansion launches on November 20 and the So Delightful update on December 4—mark your calendars for a season full of magic! I’m heading into the game now to prepare myself!
